Proctorio

Proctorio is a remote proctoring solution designed to protect the integrity of course assessments. Proctorio runs as an extension in the Google Chrome browser and only works within the Canvas environment. You will need a webcam and microphone to use Proctorio, and you will need to use a computer (not a mobile device) to take your exam. If your exam requires Proctorio, directions to download and install the extension will be found in your course.

INSTALLING LOCKDOWN BROWSER. In order to use LockDown Browser for an assessment, you must download the application locally to your computer. If a Canvas created quiz or test has LockDown Browser enabled, you will not be able to complete that assessment within Canvas. Double click the LockDown Browser Icon on your desktop. You will need to download and install the browser on your computer. To take an exam, simply click the LockDown browser icon on your desktop, and log into Canvas. When an assessment is started, you are locked into the exam until it is submitted for grading. Respondus LockDown Browser is available for both Windows and Mac. Note: Respondus LockDown Browser will not work on a ChromeBook.

ProctorU is a service that allows students who are required to have a live proctor in order to complete a test or exam at any location while still ensuring the academic integrity of the exam for the college. Using almost any webcam and computer, you can take exams at home, at work, or anywhere you have Internet access. This service is provided as an option to students who find it difficult to make other proctoring arrangements. There is a fee associated with this proctoring arrangement. It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements with ProctorU and to pay the fee. Please see the information linked below.

Note: Students using ProctorU may now schedule their exam within the hour (depending on availability) for an additional $8.75 to the regular proctoring fee. This option is made available to students when they login to their ProctorU account to schedule an exam.
